­2018 commemorates the 75th Anniversary of the world famous Besses Boys' Band.

The band that was born in adveristy in the grim days of the Second World War, formed by two members of Besses O'th Barn Band and recognized as Besses Boys' Band on 11th October 1943 as a nursery class and feeder band to support the senior group of players will this year celebrate the History and sucesses of Besses Boys' Band with a concert and exhibition on Saturday 13th October 2018 at the Victoria Halls in Bolton.

The Concert will feature the 2018 Besses Boys' Band and a Reuinion band of ex players developed by Besses Boys' Band which lead to their progression to be some of the countries top musicians that have gone on to such bands as: Fodens, Brighouse & Rastrick, Yorkshire Building Society, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Halle Orchestra, National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain and Her Majesty's Band of the Irish, Welsh and Coldstream Guards to name a few.

Since forming in 1943 the band has won numerous Contest Championships and have performed locally, nationally and internationally with concert and competition success throughout Great Britain, Europe and Australia.

The Band have also performed to high class figures, Celebraties, performed radio broadcasts across the nation and have entertained Royals, dignitarys and her majesty, Queen Eliizabeth II.­

Are you a former member of Besses Boys' Band ?

Have you ever donned the famous Jacket? The band this year celebrate our 75th Anniverary. As part of the celebrations the band will be holding a commemorative concert featuring the current Besses Boys' Band and a reunion band.

If you would like to play in the reunion band on the 13th October, there will be a rehearsal in the afternoon before the concert for those who would like to get involved.
